Your questions about our Kukui oil
How to use kukui oil
To take advantage of the oil's virtues, you can apply it as is on your face (for dry and sensitive skin); or on the body on dry areas. It is a very simple oil to apply, a few drops are enough, and its moisturizing properties (we say moisturizing by abuse of language, the vegetable oils prevent dehydration by limiting the water losses and by restoring the hydrolipidic film which protects your skin). Its active ingredients are also compatible in synergy with essential oils and do not hesitate to combine their effects in your homemade preparations.
In your homemade recipes
In your homemade recipes by the way, beware of the sensitivity of this oil to oxidation! It is one of the most fragile vegetable oils, and maintaining its quality requires very short batches at home, and an addition of vitamin E in your preparations at home when you use it as a natural ingredient, against the possible risks of oxidation.
How to choose your Kukui oil and where to buy it?
Well, from us of course! We offer you an exceptional oil, traced, with 100% Kukui oil from the inside, without chemical transformation and without preservatives. By taking it from Mira, it is also the assurance of keeping alive the networks of Malagasy producers, organized in networks of growers, collectors and pressers, to offer you an artisanal oil that you will not find elsewhere, far from the standardized circuits of wholesalers.
What does Kukui oil smell and look like?
Kukui oil is very fluid, in contrast to castor oil which is quite thick. Its texture is therefore very pleasant for local applications and "express" uses, as the oil is very quickly assimilated by the skin and hair follicles.
Please note that this oil is not intended to be used in the home.
It has a neutral smell depending on the batch, the best is still to ask us before your purchase and we can refer you. The color of the oil is as for it transparent à bright yellow, là still depending on the lots and the origin of the different regions of Madagascar. It is the oil of the bancoul nut (fruit of the bancoulier tree); and it is quite difficult to find on the market depending on the seasons, hence the variations on the lots.
