- I want an oil that is handcrafted with respect for nature, far from the usual industrial production of avocado
- I want Captain Avocat to come to my rescue
Why did we choose this avocado oil?
Because it is produced in a singular way : we are used to this oil which is increasingly in the cosmetic routines (skin care, hair care, makeup oil) but it is the first time we have been so captivated by an oil so smooth, so thick. Quite common in Madagascar, this process to obtain such an oil requires a certain slowness, a smaller quantity of oil produced, but the result is a truly different avocado oil, for unique moisturizing care. Finally, it is true that the Indian Ocean and the particular climate of the Great Island (Madagascar) is very promising for this fruit: eat some there, you will be surprised! They are as sweet as summer fruits in Europe! This difference, this richness of the fruit is felt in our avocado oil. 🥑
Suggestion n°1: A treatment for dry skin
Use Avocado oil by applying a few drops to dry skin areas. Take advantage of its action even in a treatment with essential and vegetable oils, use after cleansing. The mixture nourishes and protects your skin while fighting inflammation and skin infections. We also recommend palmarosa essential oil for purifying skin and wild lemon essential oil for its soothing and de-greasing effect (For example 10 ml of avocado oil, with 5 drops of palmarosa and 5 drops of wild lemon)
.Suggestion n°2: Natural Stretch Mark Care: Regenerative Benefits
Mix 1 tablespoon of avocado oil with 1 tablespoon of Moringa oil in a small container.
You can top off the blend with a little bourbon gum essential oil or katrafay (caution, advised in this case the pregnant and nursing women.) You can if you do not have to use essential oils limit yourself to this recipe with the present vegetable oils. The avocado virgin oil will be able to stimulate your skin for its collagen synthesis, and make it softer and more homogeneous.
Suggestion n°3: Delectable mask for hair: nourishing properties
Avocado oil is not only a good ally for the skin, as it is known for its strengthening and structuring properties on the scalp. For dull and brittle hair, it helps to restore strength and shine, especially for hair created whose structure makes it fragile and very dry.
.That's why we've placed it in our hair essentials alongside Jojoba oil and Castor oil.
Serve one night a week during which you wrap your hair in a warm towel having previously applied avocado oil to the lengths. Let it sit overnight, and enjoy the result: you shine and clumpiness!
Suggestion #4: To purify your skin: a rich avocado oil
Mix 10 ml of avocado oil with 5 drops of niaouli essential oil and 5 drops of ravintsara essential oil. You can prepare a quick treatment for the eye area, being very careful not to get oil in your eyes (we strongly suggest this, but we've been getting messages to that effect). Since the vegetable oils are naturally slightly acidic substances, care should be taken when using them around the eyes. In a small container, mix: - One tablespoon of avocado oil - One tablespoon of pure castor oil - A spoonful of prickly-fig oil. Keep this mixture in a small bottle, and apply a few drops to the eye area each night. Make a 50/50 blend with avocado and pure castor oil. One tablespoon of each or 10 ml of oil will do. Apply to nails and cuticles à hand, or with an old nail polish brush à defected nail and sé. We do not particularly recommend essential oils for this blend. Starting to get those pesky, not-so-aesthetic little pimples after shaving? We have a simple recipe to make a balm with the wonderful avocado oil. Place 5g of beeswax (organic preferably) in a double boiler. Wait for the wax to melt, and when everything is liquid add: .
- 20 g of avocado oil - 15 g of vegetable oil of Coconut - 15 g of moringa oil. Mix so that the oil phase is homogeneous, then add 5 drops of lemon essential oil, and 5g of ravintsara essential oil. Let your balm cool, and apply it just after shaving. The bonus? It melts on contact with the skin and its texture makes it very easy to apply. It will also leave a protective film on your legs, bikini line or underarms against external aggressions and free radicals.Suggestion n°5: Eye contour: anti-wrinkle and anti-acirc;ge, dark circles
Suggestion n°6: Strengthening Nail Care & its use
Suggestion n°7: A natural after shave balm
Persea Gratissima (the scientific name for the avocado tree) is native to Latin and Central America where avocados are still widely produced. Our oil comes from the Indian Ocean where the tree has adapted to the warm climate of the island. The fruit is obviously well known for its culinary and nutritional virtues, but did you know that it is also an important ingredient in cosmetics?
Our avocado oil is not yet labeled organic because we use very small groups of Malagasy producers, but are in the process of organizing to be able to certify their work in organic agriculture.
It has a saponification value of 186 and its oxidative potential makes it an oil that is not very sensitive to oxidation, and its smoking point is about 250°C.
Where we are, everything is fair trade, artisanal and environmentally friendly. We visit each production workshop, we know each producer, we have tested and re-tested each of the products: we put our hearts into our work, and we hand label all the bottles of oils! We strive to find the producers who are most committed to the quality of their products, to respecting nature, and we pay them fair value for their efforts.
.le lieu.
Our avocados come from village avocado trees in the Fianarantsoa region of Madagascar. These highland regions of the region offer them a violently sunny and humid climate. Passionate villages, an ideal climate, a natural and organic production. The key to the best anti-acute care is theagrave;. Simply.
On the skin, apply « Captain Avocado » the evening before. It can be used on the face as well as on more delicate areas: the eye area and neck.
For hair, apply « Captain Avocado » – our pure avocado oil – as a mask once a week on the lengths and ends, leave on for a minimum of one hour and shampoo as usual!
To nourish your skin.
The composition of our avocado oil is simple: 100% avocado oil (persea gratissima). Its manufacture is complex: our pure avocado oil comes from wild avocado trees, à Madagascar. The avocados are sweet, their smell strong. This is what gives the effectiveness and strength of our oil.
Oleic Acid (Oméga 9) :
The last of the three essential fatty acids: to nourish your skin over the long term, restore its suppleness, repair it. The bum is composed of 30% of them.
Palmitic acid:
The protective fatty acid. For a natural protection and a softening effect: it is thanks to this fatty acid that your skin is soft to the touch after using our pure avocado oil!
Vitamin E:
Natural preservative. No need to add or chemical, vitamin E is naturally present in the avocado oil. Anti-acute care is this vitamin.
Phytostérols are involved in maintaining cell membrane function. Our natural anti-inflammatories.
At the same time, it is a natural part of the avocado oil.

Le mot des fondateurs sur l'huile végétale d'avocat de Madagascar
Proposals collected at Dorian's house, one noon.
Oh my! Could I tell you this story with all the attention it deserves? Because for our avocado oil, we have plenty to say! It is one of Mira's first oils, and almost our most emblematic! It is thanks to it that we became aware of the richness of the plants, soils and cultures of Madagascar. If you have already smelled it, it is an oil of character, very far from the standardized avocado oil that you can buy in the shops. Here, the pulp is very strong and we feel all the intensity of the fruit! And the story behind it has become a running gag in our house. So imagine, it's 2018, the Mira adventure is just beginning. We have castor oil, Jojoba oil, Coconut oil and Moringa oil (an oil not very well known in the world and of which we are very proud). We want to test the avocado oil of the country, because even if Madagascar is not the first country producer of avocado nor of its oil, and is not even in the list of the biggest producers, we want to see the quality and the manufacturing of this deep green oil. And on the Big Island, avocados are eaten as sweets, that is to say for dessert, far from the cruditeness in Europe. We are then directed towards a very small village, in the surroundings of Fianarantsoa. The climate varies from hot and humid to drier but not necessarily more dangerous (when it is hot but the heat is dry, the body has less difficulty to temper itself, and the feeling of heat can more quickly fade by sweating than in a humid climate). We arrive in this village à the hot temperature without being extreme, and we meet the village chief.
We visit the village, and we see how it is.
We visit the village, we exchange courtesies. We talk about our project and our willingness to highlight the knowledge and the way they cultivate avocado trees. We put ourselves in the shade and we talk about lawyers, and we discuss, we discuss, we discuss. "The avocado trees are not far", but after several tens of minutes, we still did not see one! And while with Andy we wonder well what is going to look like the plantation of avocado trees that we came to see, the chief of the village says to us "a", by showing the tree which makes us shade since the beginning of the conversation. And we understand. Ah yes. In fact, there are no avocado fields. In fact, the people who work here harvest the avocados directly from the wild, and sometimes go quite far from the wild trees to get the fruit. And as a niche producer of exceptional products and more generally of raw materials with a nice social value, we are over the moon. Wild is so cool. The drawback is that you can have variations on the oil depending on the soils, the seasons, the climate, the tree itself.
The huge advantage is that it's a very good product.
The huge advantage: we're sure you won't find it anywhere else, and we're very proud of these little bottles.

Your questions about our avocado oil
How to use avocado oil
It can be used in very simple ways.
First of all: in direct application on the skin and face. You only need a few drops to let it fade, for your daytime skin care and for its anti-acute effects and on the prevention of oxidation of your cells. If the smell is too strong for you, you can for example combine it with Jojoba Precious Oil: your mixture will then have a more neutral smell.
.As a pre-shampoo mask, avocado is a very powerful ally for strengthening raw, dry or brittle hair. Apply directly to your lengths and ends, and leave on for about 30 minutes. If you have the opportunity, you can also leave it overnight in a warm towel. A little trick is to rinse your hair with fresh water in order to tighten the hair follicles. Your hair will then be stronger and shinier, all naturally!
Avocado oil or sweet almond oil?
The two oils are quite similar and often recommended for the same uses.
That said, our avocado oil has a drier feel than sweet almond oil (which is, for example, used more for massages, as it penetrates less into the skin and therefore lasts longer during a body massage.
Concerning its smell, the nôtre is quite marked, against the sweet almond oil which is quite standardized and therefore more prédictible, à you thus to see according to your préférences.
Concerning its use for the face, both oils are very effective in making your skin soft and nourish it deeply, so we will let you judge according to the sensoriality and smell what you prefer.
For the hair, especially as a mask, we recommend avocado rather than sweet almond: the effects are more important and also last longer.
What are the benefits of avocado oil?
When we talk about avocado oil, we often talk about its benefits for the hair before anything else. It is true that it is very effective in this case, but it is far from limited to its effects on your hair. On the body, on the face, or as a makeup oil, avocado oil is one of the essential oils to have in your bathroom.
.It has a very useful antioxidant action on the skin's surface, and is particularly effective in preventing stretch marks.
It participates in maintaining the function of the cell membrane thanks to its natural starch, and has a mollient effect on the skin (it makes it softer!). It is an oil that can be preserved quite easily (its recommended shelf life is 4 to 6 months, even more if it has been preserved away from light and heat). It also tolerates very well the mixtures with essential oils such as those of ylang ylang for the scent of the little or the rose géranium for anti-acute;ge effects.
Does avocado oil make your hair grow and how to use it on your hair?
Avocado is mostly talked about for nourishing hair, not for hair growth. For hair growth (and then slowing down hair loss), we recommend more the vegetable mustard oil or even the pure castor oil.
It is on the other hand excellent as a mask to soften your hair, prevent knots and regenerate your hair fiber. That's why you'll find it in the composition of excellent hair care products or in those of hair balms.
What does it smell like and how is it extracted?
Our avocado oil has a marked smell. We wanted an oil as raw as possible, far from neutralized oils (because heated to the point of losing their nutrients, or refined). We wanted an oil of first cold pressure, with still a little pulp of the fruit for more effectiveness.
.Our oil is therefore derived from the raw avocado pits, without touching them, and the oil is obtained by pressing à Madagascar, the other parts of the plant are not involved, unlike the manufacture of essential oils which does not extract the components present in the leaves, flowers or fruits rather when in the oléagineous parts.
Its color is deep green/brown depending on the batch, and it is an oil that can vary greatly depending on the seasons and locations of the Great Britain where the avocado trees come from and the composition of the soil where they grow.
