PRICKLY PEAR SEED OIL

This oil is generally found in North Africa (Maghreb, and some West African countries). Many fig oils are therefore very standardized, coming from very big players established in Morocco and Tunisia. Many networks are developing and this is a very good thing, for a sector whose quality suffers each time with the concentration of stakeholders. The nôtre comes from the North East of Madagascar, which makes it an exception in the small world of the Fig!

It is a very light, fairly subtle smell that most people would describe as neutral. What is important to know is that the smell and the color of the oil can vary slightly depending on the batch, the crop and the time of year. For our fig, you can expect a slight variation in smell (more neutral or more vivid depending on the season).

There are several factual facts that can help you navigate your way through the physical and online offerings. First of all, make sure it is prickly pear seed/pine oil. It is very easy for some manufacturers to hide behind a more vague designation such as "Fig Oil" or "Prickly Pear Oil", which sometimes denotes the real prickly pear oil, but sometimes denotes the oily fig macerate, which is obtained much more easily than prickly pear oil.

Then try to identify the formula of the product in question: any product with anything other than the sole ingredient deserves further analysis: did the supplier simply add a natural preservative such as vitamin E, or another cheaper oil to increase its margin?

Price is of course an important factor to watch, but it can also be a choice of branding strategy: our fig oil is for example very cheap, but it is a conscious choice on our part not to make a lot of margin on this product to reach more people : the rest of our range is cheaper than this oil, and we didn't want to offer a product in the range that is 7 times the price of our products on average.

We told you in the "Use" section, this vegetable oil is famous for its effectiveness on mature and dehydrated skin in particular. It is an exceptional anti-acid due to its high vitamin E content and the presence of sterols naturally contained in this oil. In synergy with the essential oil of bourbon gum for example, it will work wonders against the signs of skin aging. Or let yourself be tempted by our heavenly hemp-of-sirens blend, which combines the virtues of hemp with those of géranium bourbon essential oil.

A small cut? a scar? It is also known for its regenerative properties thanks to the unsaturated fatty acids it contains, which are not for some naturally produced by the body.

You can simply add a few drops to your night cream or use it pure on your face. Its scent is quite light and allows you to also use it in the morning to nourish your skin. Insist on the contour of the eyes, under the eyelids to illuminate your glance. A few drops are enough! Given its composition, it is very suitable for hair and scalp care. However, we advise you to turn to oils more recommended for this given the price of prickly pear oil. In fact, it's better to use it on your face for its anti-aging and preventive effects than on your lengths where mustard or avocado oils will do a more thorough job.
