PURE RED CASTOR OIL
« The fabulous destiny of castor oil » promotes hair growth, sheathes the hair fiber to make them stronger and more peaceful. Our pure castor oil comes from the Red Earths of Madagascar: bursting with ricinoluteic acid, it fortifies your hair, eyelashes and nails. Red and made from artisanal know-how, red like the earth of Madagascar, particularly thick, this red castor oil from wild shrubs is packed with vitamins.
.Our Pure Castor Oil. Cultivated on the high plateaus of Madagascar, at an altitude of 1500m, the castor seeds are pressed according to an ancestral, family know-how, which is jealously passed on generation after generation. Our pure castor oil is not refined, there is no addition, it is not even filtered: obtained by artisanal torrreation in the villages of the bush of Madagascar, it is the richest in ricinol acid of our oils. For the strength of your hair.
.
50ml bottle.
Before each shampoo, apply it to your scalp, massaging with your fingertips to activate blood microcirculation, leave it on for a few hours (or even overnight!) then wash your hair: it becomes soft and shiny!
Massage your nails and cuticles with a tiny amount of oil to quickly (and naturally!) make them longer and stronger.
This is for me if:
- I want a unique texture (castor oil flows slowly through the fingers, the o&e of more fluid oils like kukui oil or camelina oil are more difficult to dose "by hand") - I want an oil that is suitable for all hair types
- I want to do anti aging micro-care, like on the eyelids or fine lines around the eyes for example, castor oil is a very good cosmetic agent, ideal to fight locally against premature aging of the skin
- I want to strengthen my hair, eyelashes and eyebrows from the first use
Why did we select it?
The castor oil, it is simply the effect we saw on our hair (and beard) that convinced us: and not just any castor oil, but this one in particular. Unrefined, unfiltered, it looks different from the usual castor oils: thicker, more opaque, less yellow and darker, its appearance is amazing. And its effect impresses.
.Suggestion n°1: Hair fortification, in oil bath
Twice a week for a month, make yourself a little beauty and care ritual based on castor oil. Wet your hair lightly, then apply the castor oil starting at the ends to the hair and scalp, massaging it in. Wrap hair in a warm damp towel and leave on for at least 30 minutes before shampooing.
.After half an hour of laying under a warm towel, massage the scalp to stimulate hair growth, and follow with your regular shampoo. Castor oil strengthens the hydrolipidic film that protects the hair fiber.
.Be sure, however, to take a month-long break every two months to avoid getting your skin used to this regular fatty acid intake.
Suggestion n°2: Healing Oil for Dry Hands
Mix in a small bottle:
- 50 mL castor oil
- 30 mL of virgin camelina
- 20 mL of kukui
virgin oil.- 30 drops of Ylang-Ylang
- 10 drops of Geacute;ranium bourbon
Simply blend and enjoy the exotic, sweet scents of this blend to restore dry hands. It's a very simple recipe that will work small miracles, made with organic ingredients, from Madagascar (for castor oil, kukui, ylang-ylang and geranium) and from France (for camelina).

Suggestion n°3: Nail Strengthening
This is one of the only vegetable oils suitable and truly effective for this purpose.
On your nails, apply a few drops of Mira castor oil twice a week and see the effects in the first week. To thin the oil, you can mix it 50/50 with vital mustard oil.
For your personal enjoyment, don't hesitate to add a few drops of palmarosa or bourbon gum and let it transport you!
Suggestion n°4: Strengthen eyelashes and eyebrows
Like its white castor counterpart, this pure vegetable oil is quite effective in strengthening eyelashes and eyebrows!
Watch out for the eyes, because vegan oils are naturally slightly acidic, and here, it's not about hurting yourself to make yourself feel better!"
Apply it directly to eyelashes and eyebrows, two to three times a week, ideally right before showering, to rinse off afterwards. Like virgin castor oil, red castor is peaceful, and you can if necessary mix this oil 50 / 50 with a neutral oil, or a more oily oil like avocado or Coconut oil.
Ricin oil accelerates your hair growth, strengthens it and restores its shine. Our pure castor oil will work small miracles when applied regularly to your nails, eyelashes and eyebrows. Castor oil is also suitable for all types of hair, whether it's raw, curly, straight, dry, oily, fine or thin. Recommended to give suppleness to the hair the ricinolic acid and vitamin E it contains purify, moisturize and protect the hair fiber.

What's the difference with "Jamaïcan Black Castor Oil"?
If you look up carapate oil, or red castor oil, you will find many different names for this virgin oil obtained from castor seeds, by a process of roasting and then artisanal pressing.
It is also found in this form in Jamaica, hence the name very popular, but also sometimes in the French West Indies.

What we wonder about carapate oil, or red/black castor oil.
What is the difference between red castor oil (carapate) and virgin castor oil?
Red castor oil is artisanal and has a roasted odor, because it comes itself from the press of roasted castor seeds,
The white castor oil as for it is virgin, from first cold pressing of the seeds,
The first one has slightly more ricinolic acid (for hair growth, eyelashes, eyebrows and nails), and the second one more vitamins,
We very often advise you to follow your tastes when choosing between virgin oil and carapate oil, because the smell is marked, and it cleaves people between those who like full-bodied, coffee and torrential scents, and those who prefer neutral smells.
With us, both oils come from Madagascar, and the virgin castor oil is very popular, we are very proud to promote carapate oil as one of the highlights of our range.
What are the benefits of carapate oil?
If we love it, it's not just for its beautiful dark color, or for the way it's made, no. If we love it, it is for its benefits on hair, lashes, eyebrows and cuticles! Here, we will look for the effect of strength and growth on the long term, thanks to the ricinolic acid widely present in this oil. It thus approximates the effects of virgin castor oil or mustard. In an oil bath, it works small miracles on your hair, just like avocado and baobab oils.
That's why you'll see all three of them in our boxes dedicated to hair: whether red or virgin: castor oil is in the essentials!
How is carapate oil made?
Carapate oil comes from a very local know-how à Madagascar, where some entire villages are organized around the production of this oil. It is a very songulitic method of manufacturing in the world of oils.
.The castor seeds (ricinus communis, like white castor), are roasted and then ground in very thick jars, into which the seed can be knocked. This very mechanical extraction process has been mastered for generations to obtain a high quality and intense carapate oil. The active principles linked to the shoot are more concentrated thanks to this technique, especially the ricinolic acid, on the other hand the vitamins, which are very fragile to heat, will be much less important in this oil than in its virgin analogue: white castor oil.
Like this counterpart by the way, ricin (a feared toxic protein naturally present in the seed) is very little present in it, so you get the benefits of the beautiful red castor oil, without moderation.
This is a very artisanal oil that is quite thick like virgin castor oil, and subject to slight variations in texture.
How to use carapate oil on hair and how to apply it
.On the hair, this oil is very often used as an oil bath, let it sit on your hair for 30 minutes, or even overnight wrapped in a warm towel. You will feel your hair much stronger, softer, and its growth and ability to hold itself will be improved. By applying the oil to all of your lengths, you give them a protective film to resist external aggression.
.Once a week, take a moment for yourself to learn this oil: do yourself some good, it's made for ça!!
After resting on the hair, you can do your usual shampoo.
What is its natural smell and color?
This virgin oil is very distinctive in its red appearance (for Mira oil), with highlights ranging from purple to brown, depending on the batch, season, plant and torrential treatment.
Smell, it has very full-bodied notes, like a coffee of character. Sometimes this oil has very pronounced notes of roast, and sometimes a very smoky, very taking. In any case, it is served à those who are looking for character, rawness, and body, it is not a neutral oil, and it returns it to you well!
I've read it's also called jamaican black castor oil - who's right?
Everyone is right, it does indeed have both names. It will be called jamaican black castor oil in the West Indies or Jamaïque, while red castor or carapate can be found in Africa.

Mira.
